Botswana ash shutdown and plant maintenance – May 2017

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company will hold its Major Plant Maintenance Shutdown beginning of May 2017.

The Company is looking for experienced and qualified Technicians, Artisans and Semi-Skilled Artisans in the following Trades:

MECHANICAL FITTER
WELDER
FABRICATOR/BOILERMAKER
CODED WELDER
RIGGER
ELECTRICIAN
INSTRUMENTATION MECHANICIAN
MACHINIST
PAINTER
CLERK OF WORKS
MAINTENANCE PLANNER
SUPERVISOR – Mechanical Fitting, Boilermaking, Rigging, Electrical, Instrumentation.
QUALITY INSPECTOR - Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation
Job Summary
To carry out plant maintenance repairs and critical equipment overhauls within a specified time period during the major shutdown. The company plant equipment comprises of several types of pumps, compressors, fans/ blowers, isolation and control valves, pipe installations, compactors, crushers, screens, centrifuges, cyclones, heat exchangers and other specialized process equipment).

Maintenance / Repairs of plant equipment
Installation / Fitting of such equipment
Troubleshooting and analytical skill on above listed equipment
Safely carries out the day to day services for the plant

Ideally “O” levels or equivalent plus recognised 4 years Trade Apprenticeship (NCC) in any of the trades above.
4 years post qualification experience preferably in a heavy industrial plant environment.
Pass experience on major shutdown at Botswana Ash shall be an added advantage
NB: For Supervisory and Quality Inspectors positions candidates must have at least an NCC Certificate with a minimum of 5 years work experience, three of which should have been at a supervisory level. Experience in Shutdowns would be an added advantage.

For Semi-skilled trades candidates must have at least trade test C or B Certificate with a minimum of 2 years work experience. Experience in Shutdowns would be an added advantage.
