BITRI - PROJECT MANAGER

Main Purpose of the Job:

·         Prepare site-specific architectural design drawings for Kgalagadi Sand Building Blocks (KSBB) depots at each of the selected locations around the country.

·         Act as a link between the building contractor on the one side and the Client (BITRI) on the other side, by conducting at least one meeting per month on site, with the Resident Engineer and the Contractor; and at BITRI Head Office, with the Building Materials Science Division.

·         Submit monthly progress reports on the setting up of KSBB depots to the Lead Researcher, Building Materials Science Division.

·         Ensure correct interpretation of building drawings by both the Contractor and Resident Engineer; completion of setting up of quality KSBB depots on time and within budget, and admissibility of variation orders by the Client (BITRI).

·         Approve payment certificates for the Contractor and claims for Resident Engineers

Education:

·         A Bachelors’ Degree in Architecture is required.

Experience and working knowledge:

·         At least five years’ experience in Project Management/Facilities Management is required. Experience in the setting up of KSBB depots or similar, will be an added advantage.

This position is on a fixed term contracts of employment as follows:

Project Manager: 1 year fixed term contract of employment.
