VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 1 OF 2016 - EXTERNAL ADVERT
Post: DRIVER II
Salary Scale: B4 (P32, 136 –P38, 220) per annum
Leave: 20 working days per annum
Qualification: Minimum of Primary School Leaving Examination Certificate and valid Class C1 driver’s license.
Experience: Candidates must be in possession of Botswana Licence Class “B” with a minimum of two (2) years proven driving experience.
Benefits:
• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme: Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%.
• Contributory Pension Fund Scheme: Government contributes 15% and Employee pays 5% of basic salary.
Main Duties
1. Drives vehicle exceeding 3500 kg and not more than 1600 kg with or without a trailer not exceeding 750 kg transporting goods in accordance with traffic regulations.
2. Performs daily basic routine checks before starting the vehicle and reports identifiable fault to the supervisor.
3. Maintain vehicles log book by ensuring that it is readily available in the vehicle and signed by action officer before commencement of journey.
4. Repairs tyre puncture and replaces worn out tyres and ensures are inflated to the correct pressure for the load and conditions of the road.
5. Washes and cleans the vehicles.
6. Report accident to the police and supervisor.
7. Check insurance and license discs for validity and reports expiry to the supervisor.
8. Monitors the mileage of the vehicle and informs the supervisor when the vehicle is due for service.
9. Undertakes any other related duties as may be directed by management.

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 3 OF 2016 – EXTERNAL ADVERT
Post: Craftsman I Bricklaying (Roads)
Salary Scale: B3 (P38, 280 – P45, 768) per annum
Leave: 20 working days per annum
Qualification: For direct entry to this grade candidates must be in possession of Trade Test B certificate in Bricklaying. Serving employees on grade B4 who acquire Trade Test B Certificate will be eligible for re-designation to this grade.
Benefits: - Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme: Government pays 50%
and employee pays 50%.
- Contributory Pension Fund Scheme: Government contributes 15% and Employee pays 5% of basic salary.

MAIN DUTIES
1. Constructs brick and block work including provision for door and window openings
2. Sets out work on the basis of or architect’s drawings, job tickets, using datum lines, spirit level and other measuring and leveling aids;
3. Identifies the location of and oversees the digging and leveling of foundation trenches;
4. Mixes or supervises the mixing of concrete; and
5. Erects and dismantles scaffolding
6. Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 5 OF 2016 – EXTERNAL ADVERT
Post: Craftsman II (Mechanics)
Salary Scale: B4 (P32, 136 –P38, 220) per annum
Leave: 20 working days per annum
Qualification: For direct entry to this grade candidates must be in possession of Trade Test C Certificate-Mechanic, with two years’ experience. Serving employees who acquire Trade Test C and have served for two years as Craft Improver (A1) will be eligible for re-designation to this grade.

• Contributory Pension Fund Scheme: Government contributes 15% and Employee pays 5% of basic salary.

Main Duties
1. Receives detailed instructions of repairs to be carried out on a vehicle from supervisor by means of a vehicle inspection report;
2. Decides which job to start first in a logical sequence and distributes duties to subordinates staff;
3. Ensures that each job listed in the inspection report is completed by visual inspection;
4. Reports additional faults not listed in the inspection report to supervisor; and
5. Inspects certain components like, crankshaft, valves, etc and refers to supervisor for certain tolerances and wear limit to decide renewal or repair.

POST: PRINCIPAL HOUSING OFFICER I (DEVELOPMENT)
SALARY SCALE: D2 (P231,708 – P255,828 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
QUALIFICATION: Degree in Housing Management and Development or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Must have 10 years relevant work experience, two (2) years of which have been served satisfactory as Principal Housing Officer II - D3

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To coordinate and supervise the Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) programme and manage and direct the housing division.
DUTIES
1. Attends and resolves plot-holders disputes and refers complicated cases to supervisor.
2. Facilitates the provision of services to SHHA plots as per the requirement of the SHHA policy.
3. Recommends plot allocation report to the supervisor.
4. Coordinates and directs activities of Housing Division.
5. Plans, coordinates and manages the functions of the Housing Division.
6. Supervises the operation of the State Land Integrated Management System (SLIMS).
7. Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
8. Manages the work of the SHHA Management Board.
9. Monitors and manages sectional operating budget and expenditure to ensure that they meet set objectives.
10. Monitors processing of payments for suppliers of building materials and labour.
11. Establishes measurable work standards and targets for supervisees.
12. Seeks constructive feedback from others and uses the feedback to develop self.
13. Identifies areas of strength and develops them further.
14. Identifies skills gap and imparts professional, technical skills and experience to subordinates.
15. Appraises and review supervisee’s performance.

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 7 OF 2016 – EXTERNAL ADVERT
Post: SUPPLIES MANAGER
Salary Scale: D2 (P231 , 708 – P255,828 per annum)
Leave: 30 Working Days Per Annum
Qualification: Degree in Supply and Materials Management/Purchasing and Supply Management or related field.
Experience: Must have 10 years relevant work experience, two (2) years of which have served satisfactory as Principal Supplies Officer II D3 scale.

• Contributory Pension Fund Scheme: Government contributes 15% and Employee pays 5% of basic salary
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To plan, manage and coordinate procurement functions.
DUTIES
1. Provides professional advice on matters of procurement.
2. Ensures that procurement procedures are followed by all user departments in accordance with supplies and stores accounting regulations.
3. Evaluates and selects supplies on the basis of price, quality, service support and reliability.
4. Prepares loss reports in accordance with supplies regulations and recommends accordingly.
5. Develops safety and security measures to avoid material loss due to pilferage and deterioration.
6. Develops an annual master plan for material requirements for departments.
7. Develops and implements storage and layout plan for supplies to ensure appropriate storage according to their nature and ease of identification.
8. Conducts supplies inspection to identify unserviceable stores and recommends disposal.
9. Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
10. Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.
