VACANCY: CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER (Patient Care and Management)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Clinical Services, tenable at Ministry Headquarters.
SALARY: D1 (P266, 460- P294, 180)
BENEFITS i. Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50 % and employee pays 50%) ii. Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15 % and employee pays 5 %) LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Training in customer care would be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, of which two (2) years must have been served at D2 level. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To coordinate, manage and improve Patient care services in Public health facilities nationwide.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 1. Initiates the development and review of National policies for patient care management. 2. Coordinates and manages the delivery of patient care services. 3. Develops programmes to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of patient care and management. 4. Monitors and implements approved patient care standards. 5. Develops and implements Patient Care Program and strategy. 6. Participates in the formulation and review of staffing norms for effective delivery of services. 7. Analyses patients/customer complaints and institutes appropriate action. 8. Conducts facility visits for assessment, audits and evaluation of patient care 9. Trains, coaches and mentors health workers on patient care.
